Experience Iceland´s must see attractions in a Super Jeep. Including the Geysir hot spring area, Gullfoss waterfall, Thingvellir national park and Langjokull glacier.

Itinerary:

We will start the day by taking you to the UNESCO listed Thingvellir (Þingvellir) national park, which is remarkable due to its historical importance, geology and natural beauty.
The area is located right where the Eurasian and American tectonic plates are drifting apart, making it a rare spot to stand right in-between continents.

Historically it is important since the ancient Viking parliament Althing (Alþingi) was founded there in 930 AD, making it one of the oldest existing parliaments in the world.

Father of all geysers:

Leaving the National park we are ready for the elements of nature in full force with the first stop by the famous Geysir hot spring area in Haukadalur. The original Geysir, which gave its name to all geysers, is unfortunately dormant – but its little brother Strokkur, on the other hand is very active. If you would like a selfie by it, you don’t need to wait for ages, since it spouts every 10 minutes or so, with a display of hot water column and steam 20-30 meters high up in the air.

The Golden falls:

After the geothermal activity we are ready for the majestic Gullfoss waterfall (The Golden falls) falling 30 meters down into a deep canyon. It is truly a humbling feeling to stand so close you can almost touch a breath-taking waterfall like Gullfoss. If we are lucky a beautiful rainbow will decorate the waterfall, just to make it more impressive.

Icing of the cake:

Next stop is the icing of the cake and where the Super Jeep really shows us what it is made of. We start by deflate the huge tires and start our climb towards the top of the glacier Langjokull (Langjökull) – where some serious jeep action awaits us. Unfortunately glaciers are vanishing in Europe, but luckily Iceland lives up to is name hosting a few of the last ones.
